DELTA MKS - Degreasing

Degreasing is an essential step – it removes grease from the components. If there is any grease left on the components, it is not be possible to carry out the next steps of the coating process.

All the phases of degreasing are done by one machine. This simplifies the whole process and, at the same time, it eliminates the risk of damaging the components during handling. The machine has two separate tanks (one for washing and the other for rinsing), and there are several programmes to achieve reliable and excellent degreasing of all components. The machine is also equipped with an oil skimmer, which significantly increases the quality and gentleness of the degreasing process.

  • Washing: The first phase of degreasing is called washing. It is done in a mildly alkaline aqueous solution, at temperatures of around 60 – 70 °C. This phase removes protective oils and other agents.
  • Rinsing: After washing comes rinsing in a warm solution that contains a passivator. The passivator inhibits the development of corrosion.
  • Air blowing: The last phase of degreasing is blowing of pressurized or hot air.
