DÖRKEN - DELTA MKS

Degreasing

The first step of the DELTA-MKS technology is degreasing – it is necessary for carrying out the steps that follow. Degreasing is done in an alkaline aqueous solution which removes protective oils and other agents. This is followed by rinsing in a warm solution that contains a passivator and by blowing of pressurized air.

Blasting

Blasting

Blasting removes shavings and scales, cleans the components, and increases the adhesiveness of the coating. In our production plant, we use three automated blasting machines and one manual blasting machine. These machines operate on the basis of separation of the blasting medium, which guarantees maintaining a high quality of the medium and achieving excellent cleanness of the components.

Base coat

A Base Coat is a coating layer which, when using the DELTA-MKS technology, is extremely thin (the average coat thickness is 8 – 12 µm). Despite its thinness, it is a coat with superior corrosion resistance, which is required in the automotive industry and other industries. The final colour is silver-grey.

Top Coat

A Top Coat, which can be optionally applied on a Base Coat, improves corrosion resistance properties. The treated components can thus gain certain multifunctional properties, such as a set coefficient of friction or resistance to chemicals. Top Coats are provided in several different colours.
